2 Key Factors to Consider When Picking out your Cabinet Door Style

New cabinets can be very exciting! It means your remodeling or building a new home for you and your family. However, when it comes to all the decisions that need to be made throughout the process, it can be overwhelming, and just when you think you are done, you have to pick what door style you want. Up until this point you may not have known there were so many options and now you don’t know where to begin. To make this decision easier, here are the two key factors to consider.

Maintenance

One consideration that gets missed is maintenance. There are so many unique door styles out there, but some require more cleaning than others. Doors, like Shaker, with little to no detail on the stile, rails and panel will be easier to clean than doors with a lot of detail, like French. Although your cabinet doors can always be replaced, typically cabinets are there to stay for a long time, so you want to be sure it’s something you can manage in the long run.

Overall Style

A little more of an obvious factor to consider is the overall style you’re going for. Are you looking for something more modern or something more rustic? The door style you choose plays a huge role in the style of the room.

Our door styles are divided into the six main design styles (Arts & Crafts, Country, Contemporary, Rustic, Traditional, and Transitional) to help provide options for your desired style. As a general rule, something with more detail typically leans towards the traditional side and those with very little detail are more contemporary.

Although door styles are almost endless, if you first consider these two things, your decision will be easier.
